A two-minute routine

Lock it. Tuck it.
Then clean up.

Nothing to configure beyond the lock you choose, and nothing leaves your library until you say so.

01 / LOCK

Set a PIN or pattern.

Pick something that is not your phone passcode. This is the only thing that opens the vault, so make it yours.

02 / TUCK

Move in the private files.

Import photos, videos and documents. They are encrypted as they go in and stored only inside the vault. Then delete the originals from your library and empty Recently Deleted.

03 / CLEAN

Free up the rest.

Review duplicate and similar photos, oversized videos and repeated contacts. You decide what to delete, compress or merge.

Hidden isn't locked

Someone picks up
your phone. Now what?

Hiding a photo removes it from view. It does not stop the person holding your unlocked phone, the person who knows your passcode, or the cloud copy. A vault is built for exactly those three.

The casual swipe

A friend scrolls past the photo you meant to show.

Hidden albums handle this one. So does the vault — the photo is not in the camera roll at all.

Someone with your passcode

A partner, parent or kid who knows how to unlock your phone.

Your phone passcode usually opens the Hidden Album and Locked Folder too. The vault asks for a different PIN or pattern that only you know.

The cloud and the cable

Photos that sync to iCloud, Google Photos or a computer.

Vault files leave your photo library, so they do not ride along with photo sync, and they are stored encrypted rather than as plain image files.

No app can protect a phone that is already unlocked with the vault open, and no lock survives a PIN written on a sticky note. Pick a lock you will remember and will not share. What a vault app can and cannot protect →

Hidden album vs vault

A little less hoping.
A lot more locked.

Built-in hiding is fine for keeping a photo out of the grid. It was never designed to keep it from someone who can unlock your phone.

The hidden-album way

Hide. Hope. Repeat.

  • Photos stay in your library, just out of view
  • Your phone passcode usually opens them
  • They can sync to iCloud or Google Photos
  • Documents and screenshots have nowhere to go
The TuckVault way

Tuck it. Lock it. Forget it.

  • Photos, videos and documents leave the library
  • A PIN or pattern that is only for the vault
  • AES encryption on the device
  • Plus a cleaner for everything that stays

Questions, answered

Let's clear a few things up.

What is TuckVault?

TuckVault is a two-in-one app for iPhone and Android. The vault moves private photos, videos and documents out of your camera roll into storage that is AES encryption-protected on your device and opens only with your PIN or pattern. The cleaner finds duplicate photos, similar shots, oversized videos and repeated contacts so you can free up space without guessing.

Is TuckVault the same app as CleanUp Buddy?

Yes. CleanUp Buddy is becoming TuckVault. It is the same App Store and Google Play listing, the same developer and the same cleaning features — now with the private vault front and centre. Existing installs update normally.

How is a vault different from the iPhone Hidden Album or Google Photos Locked Folder?

Hidden albums keep photos inside your photo library and hide them from the main grid. Anyone who can unlock your phone can usually open them, and on iPhone they sync to iCloud Photos. TuckVault moves files out of the library entirely, encrypts them and asks for a separate PIN or pattern that is not your phone passcode. Read the Hidden Album comparison or the Locked Folder comparison.

What can I put in the vault?

Photos, videos and documents such as PDFs, scanned IDs and screenshots. Import from your library or files, then delete the originals from your camera roll (and Recently Deleted or Trash) to finish the job.

What happens if I forget my PIN or pattern?

Choose a PIN or pattern you will remember and keep a note of it somewhere safe. The lock is separate from your phone passcode on purpose. Check the recovery options in the app’s settings when you set up the vault, and contact support before anything goes wrong rather than after.

Does TuckVault delete anything automatically?

No. The cleaner shows you duplicates, similar photos, large videos and repeated contacts and you choose what to delete, merge or compress. Review the suggestions first, keep your best originals, and check Recently Deleted or Trash afterwards to recover the space.

Does it work on both iPhone and Android?

Yes. There are separate iOS and Android versions. Some options and permissions differ by operating system and app version, so a feature may look a little different on each platform.

Is TuckVault free?

TuckVault is free to download on both stores. The app may include optional in-app purchases or subscriptions for premium features; current pricing is shown on the store listings.
